Kandatsu Kogen

Kandatsu Kogen Snow Resort is a powder skier's paradise conveniently located just 7 minutes by free shuttle from Echigo-Yuzawa Shinkansen station. With 16 courses across a 610-meter vertical drop (460m to 1,070m) and 7 lifts, the resort punches well above its weight in terms of terrain quality. The predominantly north-facing slopes receive and preserve excellent snow, with approximately 1,000cm of annual snowfall.

The resort is particularly famous for its weekend all-night skiing sessions, where lifts operate until the early morning hours, making it a unique destination for night owls and Tokyo residents who want to maximize their ski time. The terrain leans toward intermediate and advanced, with some excellent steep runs and natural terrain features. An onsen facility at the base provides the perfect post-ski soak. Despite its relatively modest size, Kandatsu Kogen consistently delivers some of the best snow quality in the Yuzawa area thanks to its favorable aspect and elevation.
