Kagura

Kagura is one of the largest and most terrain-diverse ski resorts in Niigata Prefecture, boasting 32 courses across a massive 1,225-meter vertical drop (620m to 1,845m) serviced by 17 lifts. The resort is celebrated for having the longest ski season in the Yuzawa area, frequently operating from late November through late May thanks to its high elevation and north-facing slopes that preserve snow quality well into spring.

The resort consists of three interconnected areas - Mitsumata, Kagura, and Tashiro - each offering different terrain characteristics. The upper Kagura zone provides excellent ungroomed powder skiing and designated backcountry gates for off-piste exploration. Connected to Naeba ski resort via the famous 5.5km Dragondola gondola, skiers can access an enormous combined ski area. With approximately 1,100cm of annual snowfall, Kagura delivers outstanding snow conditions. The resort is a must-visit for powder enthusiasts and spring skiing fans alike.
